The Peony Project

Every spring, my neglected old peony emerges, buds, and blooms all without me noticing until I smell the unmistakable scent of fresh flowers. Well not this year! I was ready! With camera in hand, I set out to capture every blooming moment. From sad little green thing, to beautiful blossom. I captured the tiny little ants tending their future garden. You won't have peonies without the ants... isn't nature cool like that?!
Anyway, I was so glad I followed the progress this year, because nature giveth and nature taketh away.
The day after I took the final full bloom pictures, there was a wicked hail storm that destroyed every bloom and the last little buds waiting to open.
Isn't nature cruel like that?!

  1. Sorry about your ruined flowers, at least you got a few nice pictures before the storm came. I bet they smelled wonderful!
